Extraordinary Management Inspires the very best Effort in Others

There is a constant stream being composed and taught about leadership nowadays. There are suggestions about leadership, courses about leadership, books, retreats, and continuing education– all focused on leadership. While all of this product works and can definitely enhance one’s leadership knowledge, for the many part it avoids addressing and asking two questions:

Why does better leadership make a distinction?, and
How does better leadership achieve those distinctions?
All of us know we’re “expected” to work to be better leaders, however why does it matter, what effect does it have, and how does this all work?
Whenever I ask the “Why” concern, the answers that come to the mind of the majority of individuals are something like “better leadership produces more productivity, greater profits, lower turnover, greater job fulfillment, more loyalty … you get the photo. It is the answers to these two questions which elevate us from just discovering and comprehending better leadership concepts to pursuing a course of action which transforms us and our leadership abilities into something that truly makes a distinction.

I frequently suggest that my clients use their own experience as their best example. No, normally we felt the method we did (satisfied, productive, happy, focused, and dedicated) because of what we did– what we achieved. The secret to remarkable leadership, therefore, lies within our capability to relate successfully with individuals and their emotions.

Picture if everyone at work felt satisfied, productive, happy, focused, and dedicated! What would the consequences be? The consequences would be that everyone would create greater productivity, greater profits, lower turnover, greater job fulfillment, and more loyalty! The key then, to better efficiency, is assisting individuals feel more satisfied, productive, happy, focused, and dedicated. Notification the lack of any technical or intelligence concerns? Notification that we’ve haven’t brought up the concept of “inspiring” individuals? We haven’t touched on inspiring individuals for one easy reason … individuals can’t be motivated! Trying to inspire someone is comparable to physically trying to get them to do something they don’t want to do. You won’t be successful. Because we want to, what truly works is when we’re self-motivated– when we do something. When we’re motivated, we enjoy our work. We’re happy and productive of our efforts. We remain focused and dedicated to the task at hand. Simply put, we presented out best effort.

Extraordinary leadership, therefore, is leadership that influences individuals to provide their best effort. Extraordinary leadership is about relating to individuals in such a way as to influence them to provide their best effort– for themselves, their organization, their neighborhood, their household, and/or their world.

How is this achieved? The foundation of remarkable leadership– of inspiring others– comprises thee areas – Effective Leadership Philosophies (for yourself and your organization), Effective Purpose, Mission and Values, and Effective People Skills.

Leading by Example – Whether we acknowledge it or not, we constantly lead by example. In our words (what we state or don’t state), in our actions (what we do or don’t do), and in our expressions (what we show or don’t show). The things we state and do, during minutes of “obvious insignificance”, make an impression on those around us.

Why Four Lenses?

The Four Lenses is a proven personality temperament model that acts as a universal companion to any training or initiative.
